Andy Ruiz goes for Luis Ortiz's head and then Deontay Wilder's

 

Andy Ruiz has the goal of beating Luis Ortiz in his next fight, and he has already visualized his next goal, and that is to face Deontay Wilder. In his return to the ring, Andy Ruiz experienced a first face to face against Luis King Kong Ortiz prior to his fight on September 4, at the Crypto Arena, in Los Angeles, California.

It was in an interview with FightHype where Andy Ruiz made it clear that he will not underestimate Ortiz and that, should he win, he would like to face Deontay Wilder.

"I won't underestimate Ortiz, like in my last fight against Arreola. In fact, we are training very hard. If I beat Ortiz, I would like to fight Wilder. I hope he doesn't turn to retirement, because he said he didn't want to and that he makes more money outside than inside the ring," he continued.

"I didn't want easy fights, so I waited. That's why I'll fight Luis Ortiz, because he's a hard puncher. I won't underestimate him like in my last fight. We are training hard. If I win, I would like to fight Wilder if he comes out of retirement," Ruiz said.

Wilder is on a two-fight knockout losing streak to Tyson Fury and it is uncertain if he will return to the ring; therefore, Ruiz understands the American fighter's position and would not be upset if he does not fight him.

"He has said he doesn't want to come back and that he makes more money outside than inside the ring. I don't blame him. All the hard work he did for years, he did a lot and he was the champion for many years," the Mexican-American pointed out.

"I have all these houses, but my dreams are not complete. I want that WBC belt. I told my son 'I'm not retiring until I have that belt.' Even if I lose over and over again, I will keep fighting until I get it," Ruiz stated during the face-off with King Kong Ortiz.
