Chris Paul's generous gesture: gifts fellow graduates $2,500 each

"Being here with you all made my day. Sometimes you just want to be normal. You know, you just want to do the normal things that everybody else does. I wanted to stand outside and wait with them [fellow graduates], I wanted to talk to them and let them hear from me. It's a big deal", said basketball star Chris Paul as he spoke to his graduation class the day he received his first bachelor's degree, aged 37-years-old.

The Pheonix Suns player, considered by many as one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game, was presented with his bachelor's degree on Friday and was delighted at being able to feel "normal" for once.

Paul stole headlines for all the right reasons: not only for achieving something great in his academic career off the court, but also for making the extremely generous gesture of gifting his classmates $2,500 each.

It was announced to the class at the beginning of the graduation ceremony that the Suns superstar had opened accounts for companions with the platform Greenwood, and would be depositing the generous sum into each one.

Paul attended Forest University up until 2005, when he was drafted to the New Orlean's Hornets. He was the fourth overall pick that year.
