Doncic makes history: This is some video game s**t

Luka Doncic has made history after recording an extraordinary 60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists in the Dallas Mavericks' 126-121 win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

Although he didn't reach the 100 points Wilt Chamberlain scored on March 2, 1962, Doncic came close to Michael Jordan's performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 28, 1990, when the former Chicago Bulls star scored 69 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and registered six assists.

Luka Doncic on his historic 60-pt triple-double for the Mavs: It's just amazingAP

"I was just thinking about winning the game," Doncic said after the game.

"I didn't want to lose so I kept pushing myself. Talking to myself and asking to keep going and going, because I would feel better."

Kobe Bryant scored 81 points, with two rebounds and four assists against the Toronto Raptors on January 22, 2006, while Karl Malone managed 61 points and 18 rebounds against the Milwaukee Bucks on January 27, 1990.

James Harden also recorded a triple double with 60+10+11 against the Orlando Magic on January 31, 2018, but no player has ever managed a 60-20-10 game.

Earning plaudits

Pau Gasol called Doncic "unreal" on Twitter, while Kevin Durant stressed that "that was a MyCareer type performance from Luka tonight. Some video game s**t."

Trae Young believes that Doncic was "just having fun", with Kristaps Porzingis also praising his former teammate.

"It'll be another statue in Dallas... Luka is like that!" Kevin Garnett wrote on Twitter.

Even the Mavericks boss Mark Cuban took to social media to note that "we are watching greatness. I've never seen anything like that ever."
