Pele health status: Daughter of soccer legend updates fans with emotional photo

The health of Pele has reportedly been in constant decline since his admission to Albert Einstein Medical Center in Sao Paulo back in late November. His daughter, Kely Nascimento, shared an emotional photo of her and the soccer legend at the hospital on Friday.

Despite multiple reports that Pele, 82, is getting closer to losing his battle to colon cancer, Nascimento seemingly still believes her father will recover.

"We're still here, in the fight and in faith," Nascimento wrote. "One more night together."

In the photo, Nascimento can be seen hugging her father, who is still fighting for his life.

Pele's condition has reportedly worsened and is no longer reacting to treatment. He is only receiving palliative care to help him breath and mitigate the pain.

Pele's latest comments on Instagram were to congratulate Lionel Messi and Argentina for winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

His daughter had previously confirmed that Pele would be spending the holiday season in the hospital alongside family.

Nascimento recently thanked fans for their ongoing support and affection shown for Pele.

"We, as always, are grateful for all the affection you transmit to us here in Brazil and all over the world," Nascimento said. "Your love for him, your stories and your prayers comfort us enormously, because we know we are not alone."
