Barcelona were hungrier than Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti said that Real Madrid don't have a full belly, but the Supercopa de Espana final proved that Barcelona are hungrier.

The Blaugrana, who, as always against Real Madrid, smelt blood and went for the win.

We said it after the Real Madrid-Valencia semi-final: Los Blancos is not in good shape, having lost in the identity that made them champions of Europe and LaLiga Santander last year.

Barcelona, without being anything special, won the Supercopa by attacking Real Madrid's weak points and showing more faith and ambition.

The Clasico was all about Gavi, Ronald Koeman and Luis Enrique's discovery, by the way, as the Barcelona youth player's first half was a world-class performance.

Goal, assist and a recital in all areas of the field. He continued his recital in the second half, with another assist.

Luis de la Fuente, in the stands, did not hesitate to give him the MVP award of the final.

What did Real Madrid do?

Barcelona were better than Real Madrid, but Los Blancos helped a lot with the goals.

The first goal was a chain of errors that started with Thibaut Courtois' pass to a player who had just taken a blow to the head, Antonio Rudiger.

The German made a bad choice of pass and Pedri, Robert Lewandowski and Gavi made the most of it.

In the second goal, another collective failure of the whole Madrid backline, starting with the poor pressing of Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, showing that the right-back is still far from his best.

And the third, more of the same with a gift from Dani Ceballos and Lewandowski, Gavi and Pedri who didn't forgive.

Another impossible save from Courtois

Real Madrid lost the final despite having Courtois, who before conceding goals had made a miracle of Lewandowski's shot, with a spectacular saving hand.

The ball ended up on the post after the best save of the tournament.

The Belgian would also prevent the 0-3 scoreline by saving a one-on-one from Ousmane Dembele in another miraculous action.

Balde left Carvajal...

Courtois, with his save from Dembele, prevented Alejandro Balde's run on Carvajal from going down in the history of the Clasico.

It wasn't like Gareth Bale's with Marc Bartra, but it was one of those that portrays a footballer as the Barcelona player ran over the Real Madrid full-back, who physically can no longer hold his own against the fastest players on the planet. Balde is one of them.

Xavi's first title, 638 days later

Xavi now has his first title as Barcelona coach and he won it against Real Madrid.

It is the least important title of the season, but for the Catalan coach it means a lot, and for Barcelona as well, who lately only celebrated victories in league matches as titles.

Now he has every reason to turn up the music in the dressing room as it breaks a drought of one year, eight months and 27 days.

Rudiger did not have his night

Real Madrid's entire defence was a mess, but Rudiger features in the scene for every goal.

In the first one he failed to get the ball out of the box, in the second one he closed down Gavi's pass to Lewandowski and in the third one he should have stepped up to leave the teenager offside.

The German is an extraordinary defender, but he has yet to find consistency at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid 'win' in Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid only won the battle of the fans and Saudi Arabia finally had their dream final and the people of Riyadh went all out for the Whites, with a 70-30 ratio in the stands in their favour.

However, this tournament would be even more attractive on a Spanish pitch and without an athletics track.
