Ryan Garcia dumps trainer after crushing Gervonta Davis loss

In a surprising turn of events, boxerRyan Garciahas decided to end his partnership with Joe Goossen, following his defeat to Gervonta Davis.

According to sources, Garcia has already chosen his next trainer, who will guide him towards his goal of securing a starting shot at 140 pounds.

ESPN's Mike Coppinger broke the news, stating that "Ryan Garcia and trainer Joe Goossen will stop working together following a seventh-round knockout loss to Gervonta Davis in Las Vegas last month."

While there has been no official confirmation from Ryan, he did retweet ESPN's report from his official Twitter account.

Ryan Garcia's history with Joe Goossen

Garcia began working with Goossen in April 2022, before his fight against Emmanuel Tagoe.

Under Goossen's tutelage, Garcia won two out of three fights, with one of those victories coming via a knockout of Javier Fortuna. However, after his loss to Davis, the fighter decided it was time for a change.

Before joining forces with Goossen, Garcia was trained by Eddy Reynoso, with whom he won all five of his previous fights. However, he left Reynoso's gym citing a lack of attention due to the number of fighters in the gym, and Reynoso's commitments to Canelo Álvarez.

Ryan Garcia's next move is eagerly awaited by his fans, as he looks to get back on track and work his way up the ranks towards a championship title.
