Defending champion New England Patrios defeated by Kansas City Chiefs in their first match of the season


The Kansas City Chiefs surprised everyone with their victory in the inaugural NFL season opener. The Chiefs defeated the Patriots with 42:27 (14:17) in a thrilling game.

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith and star Kareem Hunt were the match winners for Kansas City in their away win against the reigning champions.

The 33-year-old playmaker scored four touchdowns and threw for a total of 368 yards. For Smith, it was only the seventh 300-yard game of his career.

The 22-year-old Hunt scored three touchdowns and set an NFL record with 246 yards. Never has a player scored so many yards on his debut.
