Federer wins his 20th major title in Melbourne

Defending champion Roger Federer wins the Australian Open 2018 and takes the 20th Grand Slam title of his career.

The 36-year-old brilliant player from Switzerland beats Croatian Marin Cilic in the final on Sunday 6: 2, 6: 7 (5), 6: 3, 3: 6, 6: 1.

At the Australian Open it is the sixth triumph for Federer after 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2017.

In the women's final, Wozniacki wins her first Grand Slam title in Melbourne. The Danish player defeated the Romanian Halep, thus winning her first Grand Slam and becoming again the number one in the world.
