Copa del Rey: FC Barcelona beat Sevilla in the second leg 6: 1

FC Barcelona have made it to the semi-finals of the Spanish Cup with a thrilling assault against Sevilla. In the quarter-final second leg, Barça defeated Sevilla 6-1 (2-0) in a gripping game on Wednesday, more than making it 2-0 from the first leg. This gave the LaLiga leader the chance to win the Copa del Rey for the fifth time in a row.

In the replay of the previous year's final, in which Barça had dominated 5-0, the Brazilian Philippe Coutinho made with a converted penalty kick quickly for the lead (13th minute). The equalizer went to Éver Banega when he failed to beat Barça keeper Jasper Cillessen in the 27th minute. Former Schalke player Ivan Rakitic (31), again Coutinho (53.) and Sergi Roberto (55.), scored a 4-0 lead.

But Sevilla did not give up and came through Guilherme Arana (68) to 1: 4. It was exciting again, because with another goal the Andalusians would have retired thanks to the away goals rule in the round of the last four.

Luis Suárez made it but one minute before the end of regular time with his goal everything. Lionel Messi scored in extra time for the 6: 1-final.

In contrast to the first leg Ex-Bundesliga professional Kevin-Prince Boateng as well as the German selection goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen at Barça was not used.
