Lindsey Vonn ends career with a bronze medal

Are - Ski racer Lindsey Vonn (USA) has ended her career with a somewhat surprising bronze medal. The Downhill Olympic Champion of 2010 and two-time World Champion of 2009 had a clear gap of 0.49 seconds on Stuhec in third place, ahead of Corinne Suter from Switzerland (+0.23 seconds). For Suter it was the second medal after bronze in the Super-G.

"That's amazing, a perfect end to my career, it was a heartfelt journey, it's a big dream," Vonn said on ARD.

One of the greatest female skiers will step down: At the Alpine Skiing World Championships in Are, Sweden, Lindsey Vonn played her last race on Sunday.

She was not able to crack the record of 86 World Cup victories of Ingemar Stenmark, her grandiose career but does not diminish. Nevertheless, opinions differ among the 34-year-old, who is referred to as a fighter and drama queen.
