Klopp: Salah is the best in the world, above Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Mohamed Salah after the Reds' 5-0 thrashing of Watford on Saturday, hailing the forward as the best in the world.

Salah got a goal and an assist as part of the rout, which keeps Liverpool top of the Premier League, one point ahead of Manchester City.

"He's for sure one of the best in the world now, but it's not about me and who I say is the best," Klopp told BT Sport after the game.

"For me he is the best. I see him every day and that maybe makes it easier for me, but there's [Robert] Lewandowski out there, [Cristiano] Ronaldo still scoring like crazy and [Lionel] Messi still scoring on a world-class level. But, at this moment, he is for sure on top of that list."

Salah's incredible form

After scoring a magnificent solo effort against Manchester City on his last Premier League outing, Salah produced another moment of magic at Vicarage Road, with Watford's defence the victims this time.

Salah's close control and footwork mesmerised several defenders as he escaped from a seemingly impossibly tight situation, before putting another defender on his backside and curling the ball into the far corner.

The goal also meant that the Egyptian broke two personal scoring streaks. It was the first time that Salah has scored in eight consecutive matches and six consecutive league games.

The 29-year-old is in sensational form right now and it's no wonder Klopp is so pleased with him. Next up for Liverpool, as Salah looks to keep his run going, is a trip to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano and the familiar foes of Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid.
