Barcelona figuring out how to give Xavi three signings
The financial situation at Barcelona remains precarious, yet there is optimism that they will be able to make signings in the January transfer window, with club president Joan Laporta even going as far as to say that he thinks three players could arrive.
Barcelona CEO Mateu Alemany was asked about the possibility of signings during Dani Alves' presentation on Wednesday, with the club not able to register the Brazilian until January.
"For January, we'll see [if there are signings]," said Alemany.
"There is a month and a half and we are working on different situations. As of today, there is no possibility of making signings in January. On the 1st, we'll see."
Alemany did confirm that there will not be any issue when it comes to registering new head coach Xavi Hernandez and his coaching staff, although, as he mentioned in his quotes, there is little wriggle room for Barcelona.
Three signings
Laporta revealed Barcelona's intention to make three signings in the January transfer window just a few days ago, but before they can sign anyone they will need to get rid of some players.
