Ferland and Edouard Mendy hit out at incorrect use of their photos in articles about Benjamin
Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy took to social media to complain about media using their photos in articles about the Manchester City full-back Benjamin Mendy.
The latter has been suspended by the Sky Blues after being charged with six counts of rape and one of sexual assault and he has been in custody since August.
"It is sad that in 2021, both in France and in England, some black people do not have names or distinct faces," the Chelsea goalkeeper wrote on Instagram, where he posted screenshots of articles using photos of him or the Real Madrid player in articles about Benjamin Mendy.
"These photo mistakes seem anecdotal, but they are highly symbolic. It is not so difficult to differentiate between two faces, especially when they wear different shirts."
The Real Madrid left-back was tagged in Edouard's story and didn't hesitate to reply, expressing his gratitude to the Chelsea shot-stopper.
"Thank you Edouard Mendy!" wrote Ferland.
"We are in 2021! Stop it. It will take time, but you will end up respecting us, whether you like it or not."
