Kevin Durant passes Allen Iverson as 25th top scorer in NBA history
In the first quarter of Wednesday's game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics, the visitors' star forward at TD Garden, Kevin Durant made history by surpassing the legendary Allen Iverson for 25th all-time among NBA leading scorers.
He surpassed Allen Iverson
With a two-point shot, "KD" reached 23,269 points, one above the point guard who excelled mostly with the Philadelphia 76ers and later with the Denver Nuggets in a 15-season career (1996 to 2010).
Durant's career began when he was drafted second overall in the 2007 Draft by the Seattle Supersonics, now the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In his career, Kevin Durant has played with three franchises in the same 15 seasons as "The Answer", he was part of the Sonics/Thunder from 2007 to 2016, went to the Golden State Warriors from 2016 to 2019 and part of that year is with the Brooklyn Nets.
An impressive career
In his career, Durant won two NBA Finals (in both designated as Most Valuable Player) with the Warriors with LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers.
Add to that 11 All-Star Game selections (two-time MVP), six-time member of the NBA First Team, three-time NBA Second Team, 2008 NBA Rookie of the Year, four-time season scoring leader, three Olympic gold medals (Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016), one FIBA World Championship (Turkey 2010) and voted to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team before the start of this season.
To surpass Ray Allen
