More bad news for Manchester United: Pogba injured on international duty

The international break was expected to serve as a healing period for the wounded Manchester United, who are experiencing a slow starting to the campaign, but news coming from France will definitely not please Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba joined up with his national team ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Finland, but he picked up a thigh injury in training and he is doubtful for both games.

RMC Sport released a video in which Pogba can be heard shouting in pain while touching his right thigh after attempting a strike.

The French midfielder was attended by a member of Les Blues coaching start before leaving the pitch and getting into a car.

Pogba is set to serve his last match of the three-game ban in Manchester United's duels against Watford on November 20, so he is not expected to feature for the Red Devils until November 23 and the Champions League duel away at Villarreal.

More injuries

France have yet to confirm how serious the knock is, but what is clear is that this is not the first time one of their players has suffered an injury while on international duty.

The same happened with both Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane in the October international break, with the latter missing out on three games.

Meanwhile, Luke Shaw has been following concussion protocols after picking up a head injury in the Red Devils' 2-0 loss to Manchester City on home soil and he has yet to join up with the rest of his England teammates.

For his part, Marcus Rashford withdrew from the England squad to recover from a bout of illness. The United winger recently returned to action after recoverin from a shoulder injury.
