Nasri on Aguero's retirement: Kun just sent me a message, it's true!
Sergio Aguero's former Manchester City teammate Samir Nasri has confirmed that the Argentine striker is set to retire from football as a result of a heart issue.
Nasri gave an interview to media in France in which he said he'd spoken to the Barcelona forward and that he'd confirmed that he was retiring from the game.
"Kun just sent me a message and, unfortunately, it's true," Nasri told Canal+ France.
"I'm really sad about it. He's been a player that everyone knows.
"He's been a fantastic player and he's a great person.
"It's a real shame because it's not his choice, he's been obliged to do it.
"I know how much he loves this sport and seeing him stop playing like this is such a shame.
"I sent him courage and love because he's someone who I appreciate enormously."
The Aguero retirement reports
On Saturday, Radio MARCA contributor Gerard Romero reported on his Twitch channel that Aguero will have to retire from football due to heart problems which were diagnosed after Barcelona's LaLiga Santander match against Alaves on October 30.
Romero says that there will be a press conference in the coming week to announce his retirement.
Xavi Hernandez, however, spoke about Aguero's situation after Barcelona's match against Espanyol, denying that he's set to leave the game.
"I spoke to him the other day and I don't know anything," he said.
"What's come out isn't true."
Nasri has stated the opposite and the true status of the centre-forward will likely be revealed in the coming days.
