Patient Hazard: He isn't considering leaving Real Madrid in January

Despite rumours of a potential departure due to his poor form this season, Eden Hazard is not willing to leave Real Madrid in the winter transfer window. The Belgium international has yet to rediscover his form at Los Blancos, but he is aware that to achieve his goal of establishing himself in the starting line-up he should be patient and earn his spot through work.

Despite not being given much playing time this season, Hazard doesn't have a bad relationship with coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Vinicius is currently considered as an undisputed starter on the left-hand side in the Italian coach's preferred 4-3-3 formation, but, during several games this season, Ancelotti tried to make a space for Hazard by changing the formation and playing a 4-4-2 system, in which the Belgian moved to his ideal position behind the forwards. However, this formula didn't work and now the former Chelsea player is struggling to earn playing time.

Hazard wants to pay back Real Madrid's confidence

As the most expensive signing in Real Madrid's history, Hazard is currently unhappy with his situation at the club, as he has failed to shine due to his numerous injuries and his lack of consistency.

Hazard is aware that he hasn't lived up to the expectations, but he is keen to rediscover his form and pay back the club's confidence in him.

Having scored just five goals across 53 games in all competitions for Real Madrid, Hazard is hoping to start against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. Rodrygo will miss out through injury, while Marco Asensio is struggling to deliver this season and the Belgian forward could be given the opportunity to feature on the right-hand side.

What's Real Madrid's stance on Hazard?

Real Madrid are aware that, even if they tried to sell Hazard, they wouldn't be able to recover most of the investment they made back in 2019.

They want to avoid weakening their squad mid-season, so both Los Blancos and the player believe he should see out the season at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and then negotiate a potential departure in summer, as the Belgian is in need of playing time ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are aiming to bring in Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer next summer and, with Vinicius and Karim Benzema as undisputed starters, it seems as though there will be no space in the starting line-up for Hazard next season.
