Real Madrid set for three hellish weeks of action

The end of this current international break will see Real Madrid enter a hellish three-week period in which they have some very tough fixtures in LaLiga Santander and the Champions League, which could have major consequences on the rest of their season.

Los Blancos at present find themselves one point off top spot in LaLiga Santander, with a game in hand over leaders Real Sociedad, while in the Champions League they are top of Group D with nine points from four games.

According to Cadena COPE's Miguel Angel Diaz, Real Madrid's postponed Matchday 9 match against Athletic Club in LaLiga Santander will take place on December 1.

As a result of this, Real Madrid will play seven matches in the space of 21 days: Granada (away), Sheriff (away), Sevilla (home), Athletic (home), Real Sociedad (away), Inter (home) and Atletico Madrid (home).

Granada and a key game against Sheriff

Real Madrid return to action after the international break with an away match against Granada on November 21, and then three days later they travel to take on Sheriff in the Champions League.

Should Carlo Ancelotti's side secure all three points against Sheriff they would book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, but if they fail to do so they could head into the last matchday - a home match against Inter - needing a win.

Four huge games in LaLiga Santander

Once the crucial fixture away at Sheriff is over, Real Madrid will have four huge games in LaLiga Santander to deal with.

Los Blancos face Sevilla (November 28), Athletic (December 1), Real Sociedad (December 4) and Atletico (December 11 or 12) in a 14-day period that could have a big say when it comes to their title chances.

What's more, before the Madrid derby against Atletico, Real Madrid will have a fixture against Inter in the Champions League, but the importance of this depends on how Ancelotti's side get on against Sheriff.

Cadiz and Athletic to see out 2021

To end the year, Real Madrid will play Cadiz and Athletic again, this time at San Mames on December 22 - this date is not official yet - as the league meeting will be brought forward due to the Supercopa de Espana in Saudi Arabia in January.
