Sergio Ramos reveals personal struggles while being injured with PSG
Sergio Ramos has endured a tough start to life at Paris Saint-Germain, having yet to feature for his new club due to a series of injuries.
The former Real Madrid captain appears to be back on track having been included in the squad for the midweek Champions League loss to Manchester City, but admitted that the road to recovery had been a tough one.
"In the end, they are difficult moments, moments of loneliness - hours in the gym with the physiotherapist, with the fitness coach," he said in an interview with Amazon Prime Video.
"You constantly have negative thoughts that sometimes make you doubt [yourself],"
"I believed in myself and in hard work. I focus on giving the club back the trust it has placed in me. I hope to reach my best level," he added.
Despite his recent setbacks, the 35-year-old believes he can still play at the top level for a long while yet.
"I think I can continue playing for [another] four or five years," he stated.
"The most important thing is that my head stays together.
"I hope I will not have any more physical problems."
