Tom Brady admitted to hating press conferences after losses
On the weekly podcast he appears on with Jim Gray "Let's Go!", Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady spoke for the first time since the 56-second press conference following the Week 10 NFL loss to the Washington Football Team.
It didn't last a minute
I think that's a real challenge for me
Brady admitted that as expectations grow and years played increase, frustration in conference calls after a loss increases, so he tries not to drag it out.
"I think that's a real challenge for me, especially as I've gotten older because the expectations are so high," Brady said. "I think when you win it's a relief, and when you lose it's a real disappointment. So sometimes you're missing the joy in this. And I have to be reminded of the joy of playing, and that takes a little perspective."
Brady understands that he needs to be more patient in those moments, however, he confessed to acknowledging it a few days later and not right away.
"But it's hard when you're in the fight, you know? When you're in the middle of the fight and it's the seventh round of the fight, it's hard to take a step back because you want to go slug it out again," Brady added.
He fielded only three questions
Thank you, guys
The seven-time Super Bowl winner was asked only three questions after the game and on the last one, when asked "what did you see?" on his two interceptions, Brady offered his best impersonation to evade answering from his former head coach, Bill Belichick.
"We started with the ball, they came away with it. So. Thank you, guys," Brady responded.
