Vinicius: I want to make history at Real Madrid
Vinicius Junior has stressed that he wants to achieve a lot of success at Real Madrid and write his name into the history books at the club.
The 21-year-old has been in excellent form this season, having scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 20 matches in all competitions.
"It was always my dream [to join Real Madrid]," Vinicius said in an interview with DjMaRiiO on Post United.
"Every kid in Brazil dreams of playing here, because there were many Brazilians who succeeded here and I want to make history like them. We are working to achieve that."
Ancelotti's impact
The arrival of Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid head coach seems to have worked in Vinicius' favour, with the Italian showing a lot of faith in the young Brazilian winger.
"He is very good. He always makes things clear, on and off the pitch, he makes it easy. I'm not surprised," Vinicius stated.
"He asks me to be calm so that I do the things I know I can do."
Vinicius has a habit of kissing the Real Madrid badge whenever he scores, particularly if it is in a big moment, as shown with his late winner against Sevilla last weekend, and he revealed that it is his way of thanking everyone involved with the club.
"I always do it because the fans and the club love me so much," he commented.
"All the people who are here love me so much, and I do everything I can to get Real Madrid where they have to be."
Vinicius' friends at Real Madrid
When asked about who he is closest with in the Real Madrid squad, the answers Vinicius gave were not too surprising.
"On the pitch Karim [Benzema], because we are very close and we always look to link up," Vinicius noted.
"And off the pitch [Eder] Militao and Rodrygo [Goes], because we're Brazilian, we're always together. In the dressing room I laugh with Marcelo and Militao, they are both amazing."
Benzema has also been in excellent form this season and narrowly missed out on the 2021 Ballon d'Or award, finishing in fourth place, but Vinicius wants to help him win France Football's prize before he retires.
"He's impressive. He makes everything difficult look easy," he said.
"He's a great footballer, I love playing with him and I want to help him stay here for a long time and do my best to help him win the Ballon d'Or one day."
Vinicius' future
Vinicius is clear that he wants to remain a Real Madrid player for many years to come and he hopes to become a legend at the club.
"At the beginning it was difficult; there were lots of changes, the language, you have to adapt quickly," he explained.
"But I was with my family and friends and that helped me. It was difficult, but now I'm in love with Real Madrid and I want to stay here for many years and make history at this club."
