Allegri and Morata's heated exchange: You'd better shut up

Alvaro Morata and Massimiliano Allegri were involved in a heated exchange of words during Juventus' 2-0 win over Genoa in Serie A on Sunday evening.

In the 73rd minute and with the score at 1-0, Morata was taken off and replaced by Moise Kean, which led to an argument on the sidelines between the striker and coach as he left the pitch.

Prior to his substitution, Morata was walking a fine line. Having already been booked, the No.9 continued to argue with the officials about decisions and ignored Allegri's orders to "shut up".

As a result, the Italian boss opted to take him off, and the forward was less than pleased.

"You gave away a foul, you had to shut up," Allegri said as Morata passed.

Morata, clearly animated himself, shouted "what have I done?" in response.

Explaining his decision after the game, Allegri said that he didn't want to take the forward off, as he had been playing well until that point midway through the second half.

"I hadn't wanted to replace him," Allegri told DAZN. "He had been booked, so I preferred to take him off.

"But he did well today, it was good to see him playing well like the rest of the team."
