Kevin Ware NFL Washington: Former TE linked to found remains of girlfriend

In the midst of a search for the missing girlfriend of former San Francisco 49ersNFL player Kevin Ware, investigators have discovered human remains, authorities said.

The unidentified remains were found Thursday in northern Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

Pomaski last seen at a party in Texas

Investigators and members of Texas EquuSearch, an organization dedicated to searching for missing persons, determined they were human remains.

"At this time, investigators are unclear on the identity of the remains, but investigators believe them to be related to the Pomaski case," Sheriff Ed Gonzalez wrote on Twitter.

"Identification of the remains will be carried out by the (Harris County) Institute of Forensic Sciences," Gonzalez added.

Taylor Pomaski, 29, was last seen April 25 at a party in Spring, Texas, about 40 miles from Houston, at a home she shared with Ware.

Ware is being held without bail

Kevin Ware has not been charged in the Pomaski case. However, the former 49ers tight end was arrested on drug and weapons charges in Montgomery County on April 19.

For the separate case involving Pomaski's disappearance, the 41-year-old was released on bail, but was arrested again on June 11 for failing to appear in court, according to KPRC.

Prosecutors then identified Ware as a suspect in his disappearance. He was ultimately ordered held without bail for violating the conditions of the previous bail case.

"That filing is the first time it's suggested he's a suspect," Ware's attorney, Coby DuBose, told KPRC.

"He's been cooperative. He's told police everything he knows and has led them through his house," DuBose added.

Ware is being held without bail at the Montgomery County Jail, according to online jail records.
