LeBron James passes the late great Kobe Bryant in Christmas Day record

Despite losing against the Brooklyn Nets, LeBron James does have a good story to tell with what he just accomplished on Cristmas Day. Before it started, James was second in the all-time list of players with the most points scored on December 25. Kobe Bryant had the top of this list with 395 points scored over 16 Christmas Day games played throughout his career. LeBron was only 12 points shy of the record and tonight he dropped 39 to obliterate it. James famously surpassed Kobe in the all-time scorers' NBA list just month's before Bryant's tragic death.

Hopefully the 'King' enjoyed this record despite the Lakers' new defeat against the Brooklyn Nets. He was also chasing another all-time record of most wins on Christmas Day in NBA History. He shared the top spot with former teammate Dwayne Wade but he couldn't get it this time. Maybe next year, if the Lakers play on the 25th again, LeBron will be able to break the record. It's been a tough season for the 'King' with his team getting defeated by almost all of the biggest teams in the NBA this season. They are far from the title-winning team that won the trophy back in 2020.

LeBron is still a point-scoring machine.

Even though the Lakers aren't doing great, LeBron James is still playing spectacular basketball with performances like this. His lack of collective results have nothing to do with his performance level but with the overall team not working well defensively. Brooklyn managed to make a statement tonight despite James' efforts with James Harden showing up with a massive triple-double that ultimately helped Brooklyn get that victory at the new Crypto.com Arena. James got his record but he left the game with a bittersweet feeling.
