This was the CL last-16 draw that was declared void

Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal all thought they had learned their Champions League fate on Monday as the draw for the last 16 was made, but an error meant that it was declared void.

Los Blancos were drawn with Benfica, Atleti were set to take on Bayern Munich, and Villarreal were going to meet Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Villarreal were initially drawn with Manchester United, but this cannot happen as they were in the same group. So, another group winner was picked and Manchester City's name was drawn.

Perhaps the standout fixture from the draw was Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain against Cristiano Ronaldo's Manchester United. There is also a match-up between Real Madrid's two former centre-backs in Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, but this might not occur in the second draw.

Another eye-catching clash was going to see four-time winners Ajax meet three-time champions Inter.
