When he plays like this... can anyone stop Giannis Antetokounmpo?
The Milwaukee Bucks are belatedly turning it on this season and they made it eight wins on the spin against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. When they get like this, it looks hard to stop them. They are now third in the Eastern Conference and not far off table-toppers Brooklyn Nets.
The reason for their upturn in form is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The 'Greek freak' has gone full beast mode in recent weeks and is currently the only man coming close to Steph Curry in a conversation about the NBA's best player.
Antetokounmpo reinforced that view with a superhuman performance against the Hornets with 40 points, including landing 15 of 24 shots, 12 rebounds, nine assists and one steal.
If the Greek took the headlines, then LaMelo Ball wasn't far behind. The Hornets star recorded 36 points, five rebounds and nine assists and he is rapidly turning into one of the most watchable players in the NBA.
What happened elsewhere in the NBA on Wednesday?
The Boston Celtics are another team starting to click into gear. Jayson Tatum seems to have found the formula to drive his side and he helped get them over the line against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The margin of victory was just one point and Tatum's contribution was ultimately responsible for it, gathering 26 points and 16 rebounds.
Elsewhere the Houston Rockets continued their hot streak with a fourth consecutive win. Jae-Sean Tate led the way with 32 points.
