The Cowboys' 11 playoff losses in their 26 years without a Super Bowl

During the 26 years that the Dallas Cowboys have not made the playoffs, they have had, already counting this Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, a total of 11 painful playoff eliminations that have struck a deep chord with their enormous fan base.

Here is a recount of all these defeats of "America's Team" since they won Super Bowl XXX on January 28, 1996.

What happened: Again Aikman was intercepted three times and now it was Jake Plummer who threw two touchdown passes and the storied Cardinals franchise broke its streak of not winning a playoff game since the 1947 season.

3.- Dallas Cowboys 10-27 Minnesota Vikings - Wild Card round

When: January 9, 2000.

Where: HHH Metrodome, Minneapolis Minnesota.

What happened: Already without Michael Irvin, the Cowboys played their last playoff game with the legendary Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith, but Randy Moss caught five passes for 127 yards and a touchdown to shred the Dallas defense.

4.- Dallas Cowboys 10-29 Carolina Panthers - Wild Card Round

When: January 3, 2004.

Where: Ericsson Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina.

What happened: After three seasons without reaching the postseason, Dallas returned under head coach Bill Parcells but did not compete by conceding 26 of the game's first 29 points to help Carolina eventually reach its first Super Bowl.

5.- Dallas Cowboys 20-21 Seattle Seahawks - Wild Card round

When: January 6, 2007.

Where: Qwest Field, Seattle, Washington.

What happened: This was Parcells' last game as head coach of Dallas in the debut season of Tony Romo who took Drew Bledsoe's place as Dallas' starting quarterback mid-season, however, he was the team's holder and on a snap he failed to control the ball for Martin Gramática's game-winning field goal and they lost in agonizing fashion.

6.- New York Giants 21-17 Dallas Cowboys - Divisional Round

When: January 13, 2008.

Where: Texas Stadium, Dallas, Texas.

What happened: One of the most painful of all, the Cowboys had the best record in the NFC in the regular season with Wade Phillips at the helm and were facing for the first time in the playoffs the Giants whom they had swept in the regular season, however, in a big upset, Eli Manning started his way to his improbable victory in Super Bowl XLII to leave Terrell Owens in tears at a press conference.

7.- Dallas Cowboys 3-34 Minnesota Vikings - Divisional Round

When: January 17, 2010.

Where: HHH Metrodome, Minneapolis Minnesota.

What happened: Tony Romo had led the Cowboys to their first postseason win since Super Bowl XXX last week but then came the worst beating since then for this team that was destroyed by the offense led by Brett Favre who accumulated four touchdown passes.

8.- Dallas Cowboys 21-26 Green Bay Packers - Divisional Round

When: January 11, 2015.

Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

What happened: It took four years without playoffs for the Cowboys, now with Jason Garrett as head coach to beat the Lions in the Wild Card Round to go to Lambeau Field for the first time since the mythical Ice Bowl, the game was even but a referee decision denied a touchdown reception by Dez Bryant for not completing the process of the reception that ultimately would have meant the win.

9.- Green Bay Packers 34-31 Dallas Cowboys - Divisional Round

When: January 15, 2017.

Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas.

What happened: Once again the Cowboys were the top seed in the NFC in Dak Prescott's debut season in the NFL, in the first playoff game in the history of AT&T Stadium it was a duel of two powerful offenses, however, Aaron Rodgers commanded a spectacular final offensive series so that, with no time on the clock, a 51-yard field goal by Mason Crosby gave Green Bay the victory.

10.- Dallas Cowboys 22-30 Los Angeles Rams - Divisional Round

When: January 12, 2019.

Where: Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California.
