NBA Playoffs: Maxey takes the spotlight in the 76ers Game 1 win vs Raptors

Before the Philadelphia 76ers started the NBA Playoffs on Saturday, everybody was betting on either Joel Embiid or James Harden to lead the team. But the man who had other plans was Tyrese Maxey, who dropped a season-high 38 points on Game 1 this Saturday. He was absolutely unplayable against Toronto but the two main stars also delivered solid performances to finish with a comfortable 20-point lead on this first game. Maxey had all kinds of variations to his repertoir ranging from three-pointers to impressive dunks. Although Joel Embiid wasn't able to score too many points (19), he did get 15 rebounds during the entire game.

This contribution made it possible for players like Maxey and Harden to get more points from those defensive interventions. Today was all about the team's result rather than the individual performance and Embiid was well aware of it. The Toronto Raptors had a very unfortunate injury in which Embiid fell on Scottie Barnes' ankle, the Toronto player had to be taken off the game. In the same action right after the injury, Fred VanVleet was ejected from the game with 6 fouls and a personal. It simply wasn't the night for Toronto Raptors at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

James Harden is completely adapted to Philly.

We also need to give props to James Harden for how quickly he managed to adapt to the 76ers. He only scored 22 points but he did offer 14 dimes throughout the entire four quarters. Playing like this, there is a great chance for Philadelphia to make it far in the Playoffs. Maxey was just the latest addition to an already impressive roster led by two of the biggest stars in the NBA today. Game 2 is also taking place in Philadelphia next Monday before making a trip to Toronto for Wednesday's Game 3.
