Saul "Canelo" Alvarez reveals he wants to do something Tyson Fury already did

Moments before Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is scheduled to take the ring against Dmitry Bivol at T-Mobile Arena, the Mexican boxer revealed that he would like to fight in his home country like Tyson Fury did in London, UK.

Canelo Alvarez last fought in Mexico in November 2011 when he defeated Kermit Cintron via TKO at 2:53 of the fifth round. Since then, all of Canelo's fights have been on United States soil.

Now that he has become one of the most popular boxers in the world, Alvarez wants to recreate the atmosphere that Gypsy King had in England. Fury fought at Wembley Stadium in London a couple of weeks ago and retained his WBC heavyweight title by knocking out Dillian Whyte.

"I would love [to fight in Mexico] and do something like Tyson Fury did in London," Canelo said.

Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol

Alvarez will try to steal the WBA light heavyweight title from Russian boxer Bivol in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bivol has a lot more to lose than Canelo, including an undefeated record (19-0-0, 11 KO).

This will be the ninth time Bivol defends his crown. He has fought rivals such as Sullivan Barrera, Jean Pascal, Joe Smith Jr. and Craig Richards.

Alvarez became the undisputed super middleweight champion after defeating Caleb Plant in November 2021. Canelo knocked out Bivol's compatriot Sergey Kovalev in Round 11 to take the light heavyweight crown.
