LA Galaxy earn dramatic draw against Portland Timbers

The Los Angeles Galaxy were barely able to draw at home against the Portland Timbers. The game played at Dignity Health Sports Park ended 1-1.

At the 15th minute there was a controversial play, the Galaxy attacked on the right flank, Vázquez shot with his right leg, the goalkeeper Ivacic rejected the ball, Vázquez tried to shoot again, but a defender got in his way and the Los Angeles players asked for a penalty that the referee did not award.

Portland dominated the first few minutes of the match, but it was not until the 38th minute when Chara was finally able to hurt the California defense and scored low to the right side of goalkeeper Bond to put the visitors up 1-0.

In the second half, the Galaxy started with more intensity, bringing on Efraín Álvarez in place of Kevin Cabral to have more depth on the flanks.

The Galaxy's offense was lacking a lot

LA's attack was null and void, lacked creativity, the ball did not reach their center forward "Chicharito" Hernandez, who was lost in the field making fouls.

The reward came for the Galaxy thanks to a header in the six-yard box by Dejan Joveljic, who managed to beat Portland's goalkeeper.

In the 91st minute, the home side had a goal disallowed for a foul on

Depuy's shot.
