Report: Detective claims that Deshaun Watson committed sex crimes

Cleveland Browns quarterback DeShaun Watson has avoided prison in the wake of multiple sexual misconduct lawsuits against him after Harris and Brazoria County grand juries ruled in his favor in that regard, although 24 civil lawsuits remain pending.

However, according to press reports from USA Today, a Houston Police Department detective, who was in charge of investigating the 10 lawsuits that could have resulted in his incarceration, reportedly testified a few days ago that the 26-year-old quarterback did commit the sex crimes for which he was accused.

Kamesha Baker's statement under oath

According to the aforementioned reports, which are based on the transcript of the sworn statement that Kamesha Baker, the aforementioned detective, would have issued, she was surprised by the decision not to criminalize Watson, since she considered that the former Houston Texans player had committed such crimes.

Baker reportedly asserted that Watson "committed criminal indecent assault, sexual assault and prostitution in cases where money was exchanged and there was consensual sex."

According to reports, Baker was not called to testify at the time in the Harris County grand jury even though her opinion that Watson did commit sex crimes would be the same as that of the District Attorney's Office.

More lawsuits against Watson?

It should be recalled that this week, the plaintiffs' defense attorney, Tony Buzbee, said that soon a new lawsuit will be filed against Watson, for now there are 24 against the quarterback.

Buzbee himself questioned the detective in the deposition about whether there was "any disagreement amongst your team or the police that a crime had occurred." Baker's answer was a resounding "no".

Deshaun Watson was traded this offseason from the Texans to the Browns, although the NFL is still expected to determine if the quarterback will receive any punishment regardless of the legal process against him.
