Yankees legends A-Rod, Jeter have awkward reunion featuring topless photo

New York Yankees legends Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter had an awkward reunion on ESPN2's "Kay-Rod Cast" on Sunday night.

During the alternative broadcast of Yankees against Boston Red Sox, the former teammates spoke on their volatile relationship.

Rodriguez said the two got together a couple months back to squash the beef with "a lot of cocktails."

Jeter, meanwhile, explained how he no longer hold grudges after recently losing one of his best friends.

"You move on. You learn. Things happen in life," Jeter said. "[I] lost one of my best friends in Gerald Williams [to cancer in February] and you realize life is short. You don't hold grudges anymore and you move on."

Rodriguez and his co-host Kay laughed after producer Joe McCoy displayed a shirtless photo of Jeter, who threatened to never return to the show.

Why did A-Rod and Jeter fight?

The embarrasing picture was from a Sports Illustrated photo shoot during their early twenties.

A-Rod and Jeter were close friends as young players in the late '90s, with Kay highlighting how the two used to have sleepovers during away games.

The relationship turned sour in 2001 when Rodriguez made some questionable comments to Esquire about Jeter.

Jeter felt like the story made it seem like he was on a great MLB team but wasn't a great baseball player.

"I was sometimes my own worst enemy," Rodriguez said.
