Jalen Hurts carries Eagles past Vikings, Darius Slay locks up Justin Jefferson

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts carried his team past the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for another.

Hurts, 24, threw for 333 yards on 26-for-31 completions and rushed for 57 yards on 11 carries.

One of the only blemishes on his victorious night came in the form of an interception, but Hurts played a brilliant game otherwise.

Even though neither team scored in the closing half, with the bulk of the points coming in the second quarter, plenty of action occurred.

In the third quarter, Eagles cornerback Darius Slay picked off Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and handed the ball to Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden.

Darius Slay vs. Justin Jefferson

Slay, 31, finished the night with two interceptions and absolutely locked up Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Jefferson, 23, is arguably the best receiver in the league, and Slay managed to tame him.

In six head-to-head matchups between the two, Slay only allowed Jefferson one catch, got two INTs and broke up three passes.

It was one of the best performances by an Eagles cornerback in recent history.

The win pushes Eagles to 2-0 ahead of next Sunday's clash with the Washington Commanders, and the Vikings will look to get back over .500 by beating the Detroit Lions.
