Tributes pour in for wrestler Adam Page after serious wrestling injury

There has been a swell of serious concern around Hangman Adam Page and the injury that he sustained during AEW Dynamite's main event.

Page was up against the World Champion Jon Moxley but they had to cut the match short when Page landed badly after a lariat.

The referee was immediately informed by Doc Sampson that the match needed to be stopped and there was other trainers making their way into the ring to check on him.

Hangman injury

The TV cameras opted not to show this detail to the watching public, but the ropes had to be loosened to allow Page to be taken away on a stretcher.

The injury occurred with about 10 minutes left in the show. The cameras did not take any close-up shots and instead focused on Moxley.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com provided an update on the injury, noting the following:

"One source believes he may have suffered a concussion, but we don't have that 100 percent confirmed. Page was checked out backstage by medical staff. We are told Page later left the venue to get examined at a local hospital."

Wrestlers wish Page the best

Lots of tributes have come in for Page from the wrestling world as no one in the sport likes to see a serious head injury.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman on Twitter said: "Prayers for Hangman" whilst the same sentiment was echoed by Ettore 'Big E' Ewen and Mick Foley.

A message also came in from EVIL UNO is SPOOKY who said: "Hangman is MY champion" and Bully Ray said "Prayers up for @theAdamPage".

It is not yet clear what the full extent of the accident is and how long fans will have to wait to see Hangman back in the ring.
