Cristiano Ronaldo: I'm proud to have scored in five World Cups

Cristiano Ronaldo broke the deadlock from the spot in Portugal's 3-2 victory over Ghana on Thursday and, with this goal, he became the first player to find the back of the net in five different World Cups.

After his team's win, Ronaldo expressed his joy about the fact that he managed to break yet another record at the age of 37.

"Scoring for the fifth consecutive World Cup is a source of great pride," Ronaldo said after the game.

"It's a beautiful moment, it's my fifth World Cup.

"We won, it's a very important victory.

"We know that in these competitions starting with a victory is fundamental."

Ronaldo also said that Manchester United is "a closed chapter", and stressed that he is "focused exclusively on the World Cup".

"We went in, we won, we are doing well," Ronaldo added.

"The rest is not important. The important thing is the World Cup."
