EA Sports simulation gives Argentina the World Cup title
With the 2022 World Cup inching ever closer, there's no shortage of predictions regarding who will come out on top.
EA Sports, the creators of the FIFA videogame, have run their own simulation in FIFA 23, and they have Argentina lifting the World Cup when it's all said and done.
Along with the Albiceleste, Brazil, France, Portugal and England are some of the other countries mentioned by those in the world of football as contenders.
This isn't the first time EA Sports have run a simulation. They did so for the 2010 edition in South Africa, Brazil 2014 and for the 2018 tournament in Russia. Each time the simulation has correctly predicted the winner.
The simulation has Argentina and Brazil meeting in the final, with the Albiceleste taking the CONMEBOL classic 1-0.
This, after Messi and company take down France in the semifinals and Brazil eliminate Portugal after penalties.
As for top scorer, Messi leads the way with eight goals in seven matches. He's followed by Memphis Depay on six goals in five matches, and Kylian Mbappe with six goals in seven matches.
