Carragher: Mbappe must leave PSG, the sooner he is at Real Madrid the better
Jamie Carragher, Liverpool legend, went on the attack after Paris Saint-Germain's 2-0 defeat (3-0 on aggregate) against Bayern Munich that meant the elimination of Leo Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Kylian Mbappe's team in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
The current CBS Sports analyst called on Mbappe to go to Real Madrid and leave a club that, according to him, is not ready to win the Champions League.
"Kylian Mbappe has to leave PSG. I really think he has to leave. They are nowhere near winning the Champions League. I don't think he's going to improve next season if he stays that squad and the sooner he's at Real Madrid the better," Carragher said on CBS.
Mbappe's cryptic "we'll see" about his future
At the end of the match Mbappe prompted doubts about his future with an enigmatic "we'll see".
The French striker declared after the defeat against Bayern that "if I'm rethinking my future? No, no... I'm calm, the only thing that matters to me this season is to win the league and then we'll see".
Harsh criticism of PSG's transfer policy
Carragher was strong on PSG's latest European elimination and their transfer policy in recent years.
"To be eliminated five times in the last 16 is a joke," Carragher said.
