Oscar Gloukh: Barcelona wanted me, but they came too late; my biggest dream is to play for Real Madrid

Oscar Gloukh is considered to be one of the most promising players in Europe.

He has been garnering attention from both Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent years.

The young midfielder, speaking to Forbes Israel, acknowledged that he could have signed for Barcelona, but that the Catalan club was slow and he had already signed for RB Salzburg.

"I was very excited that Barcelona wanted me, but they were late in the race and in the end it wasn't to be," he said.

Gloukh's signing cost the Austrian side around 7 million euros and the player admits that although he was excited about the interest from Xavi's side, he made the best decision for his future: "Barcelona agreed when we had already closed the deal with Salzburg.

"It was the best option for me and we did it. In the end, it's clear to me that we made the right decision to go to them and not to Barcelona. It makes more sense as a player."

"The crowning moment will be to arrive at Real Madrid"

The talented Israeli midfielder also admitted, despite being close to Barcelona, that he has been a fan of the great Azulgrana rivals since he was a child: "For as long as I can remember, since I started playing football, I've been a Real Madrid fan.

"My greatest moment will be to play for Real Madrid. My biggest dream is to play at the Bernabeu and wear the Real Madrid kit."

So far this season, Gloukh has already made five appearances for Salzburg and has shown a great deal of quality on the pitch.

He is undoubtedly a player of the future and has been selected as one of the 30 people under 30 to watch by the Israeli edition of Forbes magazine.
