Odell Beckham Jr. closer than ever to linking up with Aaron Rodgers on Jets

NFL free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will visit the New York Jets on Monday to undergo a physical, speak of what an Aaron Rodgers-led offense would look like and how he would fit in that system.

Beckham, 30, hasn't played a game in the league since leaving Super Bowl LVI with a torn left ACL. He won a ring with the Los Angeles Rams, but hasn't been able to find the value he's seeking when speaking with teams.

Rodgers, 39, is almost certainly leaving the Green Bay Packers to sign with the Jets and specifically asked New York to go after OBJ.

Jets already signed former Packers WR Allen Lazard to appease Rodgers, as well as Mecole Hardman. Beckham Jr. would be entering a packed wide receiver room while getting back in rhythm.

Beckham recently spoke with several teams, including the Jets, at the Annual League Meeting on March 28, but was unable to agree to terms with anybody.

The physical is the most important element of OBJ's visit to the Jets. If he's not healthy enough, then they won't sign him or pay what he demands, but there have already been reports that he's in peak physique.

Rodgers, meanwhile, is waiting as long as possible to inform the public of his decision, though Jets general manager Joe Douglas is confident the four-time league MVP will join New York.

Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson will be the one who would benefit most from playing alongside veteran weapons such as Rodgers and OBJ.

Beckham, who was a key piece to the Rams winning a Super Bowl, has 7,367 career receiving yards and 56 touchdowns on 531 career catches.
