Senator Tommy Tuberville slams Megan Rapinoe's stance on trans athletes

Tommy Tuberville, former Auburn football coach and current Alabama senator, has come out against Megan Rapinoe's stance on trans athletes, particularly in women's sports. The debate around transgender athletes in sports has gained traction in America due to the significant physical differences between male and female competitors. On average, men are generally bigger, stronger, and faster than women.

Megan Rapinoe, an Olympic soccer player and NWSL player, has expressed her support for biological men being allowed to compete against women. Tuberville criticized her stance: "If that had happened during her career, she'd have been working at Safeway or Piggly Wiggly. She'd never gotten on the field, but now that she's retired, 'Yeah, I'm all for this.' And that's the biggest bunch of crap I've ever heard."

Tuberville also added that Rapinoe doesn't stand up for what's right in this country and that the main point is that it's not fair. He emphasized that women simply can't compete against men in sports and shouldn't be forced to. In Tuberville's view, it's pure insanity to allow biological men to crush female athletes, snatch their dreams away, and be applauded by the woke mob.

It's worth noting that Rapinoe is still an active NWSL player with the OL Reign, despite Tuberville's assertion that she's retired. Tuberville's comments may seem harsh, but his assessment of the situation is difficult to disagree with.

Rapinoe supports trans men competing against women

Members of the women's national soccer team have experienced this issue firsthand when a boys U-15 squad from Dallas beat them 5-2 in a scrimmage in 2017. This event illustrates the massive physical differences between male and female athletes.

It's unclear why Rapinoe supports biological men competing against women, especially since she's benefited greatly from women's sports. If she had been competing against men during her career, she may never have had the opportunity to showcase her skills. It's also worth considering whether Rapinoe's tune would change if she lost her NWSL roster spot to a man.
