Taylor Adams heading to Chelsea? The American may follow Pulisic's footsteps

Tyler Adams will be moving on from Leeds United after the team got relegated into the English second division.

Recent Premier League rumors have put the midfielder at Chelsea as the team is rebuilding its squad before the 2023-24 season.

Adams wants to be a Blue

The midfielder, who joined the Peacoks from RB Leipzig last offseason, has caught the eye of Chelsea after their experience with American forward Christian Pulisic.

According to reports, the Stamford Bridge club has already started talks with Leeds United and are considering buying the player's £20 million pound release clause.

While Aston Villa is also inquiring about the 24-year-old player, it is known that Adams would prefer to join Mauricio Pochettino's team.

Chelsea just parted with American international Christian Pulisic in June after acquiring him in 2019. During his time with the BluesPulisic played in 98 games and scored 20 goals.

Adams' journey to the Premier League

The defensive midfielder has been playing in Europe since 2018 when RB Leipzig acquired him from the New York Red Bulls of MLS.

Tyler had been with the Red Bulls since his youth playing time earning his first professional start at the age of 16 with Red Bulls II.

After spending three and a half seasons with the Bundesliga club, where he won a Pokal (Cup), the player joined Leeds United in 2022 in a reported deal worth $24 million dollars.

Adams had good performances with the Peackos but the team couldn't avoid relegation after finishing 19th in the 2022-23 season. The team finished with 7 wins, 10 draws and 21 losses.

The American's contract was set to expire until 2027.
