Angel Reese is back with the LSU Tigers for their next game, announced Kim Mulkey
After a long 4-game absence, LSU star forward Angel Resse is finally returning to activity ith the Lady Tigers without any clarification to why she missed those games in the first place. Leading up to the team's match against Virginia Tech on Thursday, Reese was announced to return to practice alongside the rest of her teammates. Previously, Reese had already hinted she would return through an Instagram post where she appears inside LSU's basketball stadium. After the confirmation of her return took place on Wednesday, we didn't get any confirmation to whether Reese will be a starter or not in Thursday's game that will defend LSU's 7 seed.
Coach Mulkey confirmed the news
Through a press conference on Wednesday, coach Kim Mulkey declined to go into any further details of what happened with Angel Reese. Mulkey herself only limited herself to saying that her two-week absence was due to an unspecified 'locker room issue'. What ever that means. Given that she is arguably one of the most popular female college basketball players in the country, LSU could not afford to keep her out of activity for much longer. She missed the games against Southeastern Louisiana, Texas Southern in Baton Rouge, against Niagara, and Virginia during games played in the Cayman Islands.
The Tigers did win all of the games Reese missed, they are currently 7-1 nd got their victories with a wide margin. They haven't lost a single game since they lost the season opener against Colorado. Reese did start for LSU's first four games while averaging 17 points and 10.3 rebounds. Mulkey has tried to defend the specifics of her decision to keep Reese away from the game during these four games. She insisted it was an internal team matter and the public had no business knowing about it.
