Doncic and Irving are on the same wavelength in Dallas and scare the rest of the NBA

The Dallas Mavericks of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving entered the 2023/24 NBA season as a giant unknown quantity.

Their first games together last season were anything but positive, and there were logical doubts about their coexistence and ability to win with two stars so similar in ball-handling, shooting and prominence, but different in personality and leadership.

Doncic full of praise for Wembanyama after his NBA debut: "He's gonna get even better"

However, they are just that: stars. And, as such, they have made a sensational start to the season.

With six wins and just one loss - against the Denver Nuggets, the reigning champions - they seem to be adapting and working.

For now, the Mavs are winning steadily. They beat the Orlando Magic in Florida 117-102 on Monday, an important test against one of the best offenses in the competition.

Doncic and Irving secure the win vs Orland

The game was decided in the final minutes, when Doncic and Irving took over.

Irving pulled out a magical 2+1 and Doncic found him with a great assist to hit a three-pointer.

To this, the Slovenian added another dunk to win the game.

Doncic had 29 points, six assists and three rebounds, while Irving chipped in with 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

It was a complete performance in which the Slovenian continues to lead the way and the point guard has now racked up two straight games with 10 assists.

"Their chemistry is perfect," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said nonchalantly.

The Dallas Mavericks' good record

The Mavs, as things stand, have a 6-1 record. This has been sustained, to a large extent, by a magnificent management of the final minutes.

Adblock test (Why?)
