Buffalo Bills Pro Bowler reignites Chiefs rivalry: "Mahomes has never been here, so good luck"
Once again, the highlight of an NFL Playoffs weekend will be a game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. Over the past four seasons, the two AFC powerhouses have given us some thrilling games, including one of the best postseason games ever during the 2022 NFL Playoffs.
Although they've met five times over the last three years, the Chiefs have been the home team for every single one of those games. That will change this weekend, when Buffalo hosts Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and co.
Dion Dawkins believes Mahomes will find it hard vs Bills Mafia
Speaking to media on Thursday, Bills Pro Bowl tackle Dion Dawkins was asked about what it means for the Chiefs to have to visit them instead of the other way around.
[Mahomes has] only been here once. So, he's never been here. Simple as that. Pat has never been to the Bills' stadium in full... The environment will be different and not to say it's in our favor, but stadium is our favor. Stadium is us. That helps us. I don't care what nobody says... It's cool. So good luck.
Mahomes' only game at Highmark Stadium came during the 2020 regular season. The Chiefs won 26-17 with Mahomes throwing for 225 yards and two touchdowns while adding 36 yards on the ground.
The stadium was empty back then because of the COVID pandemic, so this will be Mahomes' first true test in front of Bills Mafia.
Dawkins also spoke generally about being able to play this game at home, and why it's so important to have the Bills fans to lean on.
Dawkins' outgoing personality certainly shines through, but the Chiefs will likely take his "good luck" comment and use it as extra motivation. Sunday can't come soon enough.
