Pitch Invasions and Flares Disrupt Dynamo Dresden vs. Hertha Berlin Clash

Violent scenes marred the German second-division fixture between Dynamo Dresden and Hertha Berlin on Saturday, as large groups of fans invaded the pitch, threw flares, and clashed with one another, prompting police intervention and a prolonged stoppage in play.
Referee Sven Jablonski suspended the match for over 15 minutes after Dresden supporters in the club's yellow and black colors ran the length of the field toward a section housing Hertha fans. Visiting supporters simultaneously jumped a fence and moved toward the pitch. Lit flares were thrown from both sets of fans, with some landing near spectators, and isolated physical altercations appeared to take place.
Police entered from a corner of the stadium and chased dozens of Dresden fans back toward the opposite end, eventually forming two lines across the field to maintain separation between the rival groups. During the stoppage, a banner in Hertha's blue and white colors was set alight and displayed in the Dresden end.
It was not immediately known whether any injuries occurred or if arrests were made.
The match had already experienced an earlier delay when fans ignited pyrotechnics, causing smoke to fill the stadium. When play eventually resumed, Hertha secured a 1-0 victory.
Separately, fan unrest was reported at the conclusion of Borussia Dortmund's 2-0 win over Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, when a group of Stuttgart supporters approached the field and a chair was thrown onto the pitch.
