The winner of the Football Champions League is called Real Madrid for the third consecutive time. The Spaniards won on Saturday in the Kiev Olympic Stadium in the final against Liverpool 3-1 (0-0). Real scored with slapstick hits from Karim Benzema (51 ') and Gareth Bale (83'), which were preceded by heavy lapses by Liverpool goalie Loris Karius, and a dream goal from Bale (64 '). Sadio Mane equalized in the 55th minute. Real won as the first club since FC Bayern (1974 - 1976) three times in succession, the most important European club competition and built with a total of 13 triumphs the status of a record champion.

For 37 years, Real has lost none of his seven finals in the premier class.

The game started promising for the English side. The team of Jürgen Klopp pressed energetically and left the Madrilenians little room for development. Although Real scored the first chance in the 15th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo scored the goal from an acute angle, Liverpool's initial stint was over. In the 18th minute, Virgil van Dijk hit the ball after a corner kick from Mohamed Salah in front of Real goalie Keylor Navas. Five minutes later, a shot by Roberto Firmino was blocked in the penalty area.

Sergio Ramos tore Salah to the ground and fell on his shoulder, which the referee did not considered a foul. The Egyptian tried to play briefly, but then had to leave the court in tears. He was soon followed by injured Real right-back Dani Carvajal. The loss of their top star immediately left a mark on the game of "Reds". Suddenly, the English were deeper, the technically savvy Real players took command and approached towards the end of the first half of the lead.

For the time being, the second half was also dominated by the Spaniards.

In the 51th minute Karius caught a long pass and was about to pass the ball to a defender, but hit the foot of Benzema and the ball was defelected into the net.

After a corner from James Milner Dejan Lovren won the header duel and the Sadio Mane set from close range to 1-1. But then followed the big appearance of Bale - only three minutes after coming on the field the Welshman sank a Marcelo cross in a beautiful bicycle kick goal. This time Karius had no chance.

Liverpool struggled desperately for the equalizer, but more than a shot from Mane in the 70th minute brought no more. On the other side, the disappointing Ronaldo missed the chance to make it 3-1 in the 74th minute. So it took until the 83rd Minute, before Real sat down for the third time - and Karius delivered his second blackout. The keeper let a harmless, central shot of Bale from about 30 meters over the hands slip into the goal.

Real ensured the eighth Spanish triumph in the recent nine European Cup finals. For Liverpool coach Klopp in turn, it was the sixth final defeat to digest en suite.
