Tyson Fury beats Pianeta, Wilder fight is official!

Tyson Fury has taken another step towards his next championship fight. The ex-heavyweight champion prevailed in Belfast against Francesco Pianeta.

Belfast - Former boxing champion Tyson Fury has also won the second heavyweight fight after his comeback and now wants to compete in a World Cup duel. The 30-year-old Briton beat German-Italian Francesco Pianeta unanimously on Sunday night at the Windsor Park football stadium in Belfast.

Pianeta, however, was not a true gauge. The 33-year-old southpaw has now lost three of his most recent four bouts. "I'm satisfied," Fury said after the win. The 2.06-meter Briton wants to compete in the coming months against WBC World Champion Deontay Wilder from the United States.

Fury promises Wilder the knockout

The fight had already been arranged, assured its promoter Frank Warren. More information will be announced next week. Presumably, the duel will be held in Las Vegas. "One thing I can promise you: If I go to Las Vegas, I'll knock you out," Fury told Wilder, who was sitting at the ring.

Fury had defeated Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 surprisingly and took him the titles of the associations WBO, IBF and WBA. Unfortunately, he lost them because of his doping suspension. Next to Wilder is the Briton Anthony Joshua heavyweight champion. He owns the belts of IBF and WBO and is a so-called super champion of the WBA.
