Arsenal loses in Rennes, Frankfurt maintains its temper

Arsenal are in a bad shape after the first knockout round of the Europa League. The "Gunners" with Granit Xhaka lose the first leg in Rennes after an early lead 1: 3.

A debatable yellow-red card against Arsenal defender Sokratis shortly before the break led to a turnaround in favor of the Bretons at Roazhon Park in Rennes, after Arsenal's fourth-minute whistle by Alex Iwobi had already taken the lead.

Immediately following the dismissal of Sokratis, Benjamin Bourigeaud scored with a brilliant long-range equalizer (42.). After just over an hour, Arsenal's Captain Nacho Monreal kicked the ball into the net before Ismaila Sarr closed a 3-1 thriller in the 88th minute, leaving the home side with a reasonably good mortgage for the rematch.

Frankfurt still unbeaten

Eintracht Frankfurt maintained its defiance in the current competition one day before the 120th anniversary at 0: 0 against Inter Milan. In an entertaining and at times heated game the Bundesliga side was closer to victory, as it was clear in the second half clear play and failed several times from promising position. For Inter, Croatia's Marcelo Brozovic missed a golden opportunity to score an away goal midway through the first half when he failed to beat Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp with a foul.

The foul, which led to the penalty, commited by Gelson Fernandes, but opponent Lautaro Martinez was a bit easy to fall.
In a similar scene after the break in the box Inters the whistle of the referee remained silent, which angered Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter so much that he was banished to the stands.
