Alaba suffers minor knee sprain without ligament damage
Following Real Madrid's comfortable 3-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol in midweek, David Alaba was forced onto the sidelines due to some discomfort in his left knee.
In the aftermath of the game, Carlo Ancelotti reassured Real Madrid fans about the Austrian's condition.
"We don't believe Alaba's injury is going to be major," said Ancelotti.
The tests on the centre-back have since revealed a low-impact left knee sprain that does not seem to have affected any ligaments.
Alaba is likely to miss Real Madrid's encounter with Sevilla on Sunday as a precaution, as Los Blancos prepare for the busy December schedule that lies ahead.
The 29-year-old has not suffered any major injuries in his left knee as of yet. His right knee, on the other hand, caused him problems in the past during his time at Bayern Munich.
