Joan Laporta will make three signings in January

With Xavi Hernandez's arrival as the coach of Barcelona, president Joan Laporta is already moving his focus to the January transfer window.

In a dinner with fan clubs in Pontevedra, Galicia, ahead of this weekend's fixture in nearby Vigo, Laporta assured fans that the team would make three signings.

Quoted by TV3, the president reportedly assured that there would be incomings, which are needed more than ever with Sergio Aguero out for at least three months due to a cardiac arrhythmia.

However, Barcelona will need to sell players to be able to bring others in due to their wage cap.

All new signings would be given the green light by new coach Xavi, who will be keen to adapt the squad to his plans.

Laporta has had a hectic week despite remaining in Spain, as he kept in constant contact with his vice president of the sporting area, Rafa Yuste, and football director, Mateu Alemany, in Qatar as they negotiated a deal to bring Xavi to Barcelona.
